Like Grandfather, Like Grandson

So Johnny and I have been joking-kinda seriously-about how much Turner is JUST like Grandad Steve-my dad. He is so outgoing, cares about EVERYONE, and talks to total strangers ALOT! So since we've started walking around the lake here in Kingston, Turner wants to stop everyone we pass and talk to them about anything-the turtles we just fed, the crane we saw, what's their dog's name,do they want to come watch him play football, etc. So I started talking to him about how it's ok, to say "hi" but not talk to EVERY stranger he sees. Here's how the conversations went.....

Whitney: "Turner, you know you don't have to stop every person and talk to them? Some people are trying to exercise"
Turner: loudly " But mom, HE wasn't a stranger!"
Whitney: "oh really? where did you meet him?" sarcastically
Turner: "I saw him at WalMart- are you calling me a liar?"
Whitney: couldn't even say anything, I just died laughing!!!

Thanks Grandad Steve! We love you!

I had to do it....

Have you ever gotten dressed to go to the grocery store and said "man, I just look way too cute to JUST go to the grocery store"....???? Yeah me neither! BUT MOLLY DID!!! she was just in a great mood after waking up from a long nap so I grabbed a blanket and ran to the backyard and had a photo op while Turner was in preschool... she looked just way too cute for sitting in a buggy at Kroger!!!! (can't believe she's already 8 months old!)

oh what a touch of paint can do....

Here are just two of the before/afters on the rooms...The bright yellow is before in Turner's room and the sage green is "after" in Turner's room.
The mint green with wallpaper is before in the master and then the "chocolate froth" color (really what it is called) is "after" in the master bedroom. still working on more.....tbc....

so it goes....
TURNER'S ROOM AFTER
MASTER AFTER
TURNER'S ROOM BEFORE
MASTER BEFORE
sorry, still cant get the backwards blogging!

Getting Too Big For Our Britches!

ok, so I tried the extra long post....no ideah how it's gonna turn out. just haven't been blogging as much as I think I'm supposed to! Molly's already trying to crawl up/down the stairs-really need to get a gate for that! She's standing and trying to walk around everything! not ready for that either! We're also in the "rubbing all my food through my hair" phase! hate that! MOlly just turned 8 months old and Turner still every bit of 4 1/2. Johnny and I decided to switch his preschools to one down here in Kingston, after much thought though. We really hated to make yet another transition for him but decided in the long run it'd be better if he already knew some kids before going to kindergarten next year. This preschools was really great with learning and letter/number recognition which he is already really interested in. The other just seemed to have so many younger kids in the class and I know he will miss them so much but we are incouraged by how much he wants to go to his "new school" already. Hope it lasts! So, off to unpack more boxes, clean up, and take the trash off! Never thought I'd be one to say that!

ok, so I just previewed the post and it's all backwards, so the photos go from bottom up. oh well! I'll get it right one of these days!

More Louisville trip

This is Ms Brylee Crass who we went to visit, well, and her parents too-Sam and Brooke! We had the best time and hope to do it again very soon! Louisville really was a fun town with lots to do. Ms. Brylee is only 2 months old and 3 lbs less than Molly! They were great friends. Molly would try and hold her hand and even tried to share her dolly with Brylee. On Sunday Brooke and Sam took us to this restaurant that has been on the food network called "Lynn's Paradise Cafe". Best food I've ever eaten and it was only Brunch! It was a fun quirky little place that had a store out front with lots of hats, neat toys, and glasses. Here's some that Molly and Turner tried on. Thanks again Crass family for hosting us and showing us a good time, kids and all!

Our New House!

Here's just a few pictures of our new house. These don't do it any justice but they are the ones with the least amount of clutter and boxes!!!Hey, it's only been 2 weeks right?
Huge ridge with tons of trees behind us and two ponds, one is right next to our front yard and the other big pond with gazeebo is in the back of the house and my inlaws(most wonderful people ever and have helped us tons!!!) are right next door! Love my new kitchen, dining room, hardwood floors, and huge finished basement with tons of storage. Turner and I have been working on the playroom downstairs all morning! We still have some painting to do and lots of pictures to hang, but saving that for my other most wonderful people ever-my parents-coming labor day weekend!
I'll have more pictures soon! I have before and after pictures of the painting that we have done so far too.

My Luck, My Kids

So we're in Louisville, KY visiting friends (more pics and details on that later). Just wanted to show you what I'm dealing with. Johnny is out in Downtown Louisville with his bud having fun and I was beat so came back to the hotel with Turner and Molly. They are both out cold in the car on the way back to the hotel so I'm figure out how I'm going to get them all the way up to the hotel room without waking up anyone!
Sure enough this is what happens when we get back to the room.... Wide-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready to wrestle while I'm trying to put pajamas on at 11:30pm! So like any good mother would do....I joined in, tickled, and took pictures!!! They're only little for a little while right????
