let it snow, let it snow...yeah yeah whatever already

well, Molly finally got to play in the snow and boy did she LOVE it!!! Obviously we didn't have any snow "gear" for her, but she was layered pretty good. We were wondering how to sled without ending up in the pond. We have some great hills but they all lead to the pond! Johnny and Turner had so much fun having a snow-ball fight that they forgot about sledding. Apparently, we can possibly do some sledding tomorrow because it's snowing more now and temperature's dropping pretty quick. low 20's now. The first batch of snow was 'ruined' by rain this morning and was pure slush, not the fun white powdery stuff so here's hoping for tomorrow. Also hoping for very safe travels for Johnny's parents and aunt and uncle driving home from florida right now. They are so close, in chattanooga, but the roads are all refreezing so we're on pins and needles waiting for them to drive in the driveway so we can rest easy!

Brothers and Sisters

So we have been getting along sooo well with each other-well, Molly and Turner that is...and boy thank goodness for that since we've been home bound for over a week now with the horrid stomach bug! Everyone in our family had it and Johnny and Turner had it the longest! Turner was sick for 6 days straight! Poor guy! But we are all better now and out amongst the living! This is the longest he's ever missed school. I felt so bad for him.
But we are better and loving each other! Turner has been asking Molly to play with him and if she doesn't understand he just picks her up and brings her to whatever toy he wants her to play with him at! It's sooo funny! He usually watches a movie before going to sleep at night and is now asking if Molly can lay in bed with him and watch a movie! She absolutely LOVES it for about 15 minutes and then runs out looking for me or Johnny.
She's been very clingly recently but I'm thinking that has to do with me trying to get rid of her bottle, I was trying with the paci first but then she had yet another really bad ear infection so we are trying to get rid of the bottle now! Turner had no problems giving up his bottle. Molly-not so much! SHe's apparently really attached, especially at night! ARG!
We're hoping to surprise the kids with a trip to the aquarium this weekend since we've all been cooped up in the house for so long! I'm so excited! Turner was so little when we went to this one last time and Molly is just obsessed with "sish" or Fish and loves Turtles and ducks too! She's talking a little bit more now and it's sooo cute! Not so cute is the hitting phase and throwing food phase!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!!!

no, really it IS that cold!!!! The temps have been in the teens and low 20's here in Knoxville and Kingston, and the entire pond has frozen! Turner is dying to go Ice Skating-boy wouldn't that be a disaster!

Just the Deakins'

Just some pictures of us being silly oh...and the joys of teething! Molly showing us where her "hurts" are. Turner showing us his HUGE muscles! Molly has been sooo sweet recently wanting to give everyone kisses! I just LOVE it!!!!

Busy Month???

ok...so I'm waaaayyy behind, and guess we will just have to hit the highlights!!! Turner and Molly had their double birthday party at The Little Gym and we had such a great time! they were sooo good to us and did so great with the varying ages there. So then we had just our little family party for Turner and Molly at our house for their actual birthday! Have I mentioned that I do NOT recommend having two children two days apart the week before Christmas??? yeah, NOT IDEAL! but we really did try to make the best of it and next year promise to do even better! I finally got wise that you have to have the birthday at the begining of the month if you want anyone to attend-it's just too crazy at the later part of the month for anything!
So, Molly had her 1 year check up and we are finally 20 lbs! She did great and while only in the 20th percentile for weight she is upper 40's percentile for height and a WHOPPING 97 percent for her big noggin'!
Then she had her ENT apt and passed all of her hearing test and tubes are looking great and are doing their job(even though we've had one ear infection with them in).
So here's the first post! I've got more of our Christmas tree getting put up and other fun stuff!

Turner's First UT Basketball Game

We took Turner to his very 1st UT basketball game last night and he had a blast! Of course his favorite part of the entire game was meeting and getting to take a picture with "Smokey Dog"! He got a foam finger and would yell at Smokey "I'm your number one fan, Smokey!" and was just too cute! Made this alumni momma proud! He sang Rocky Top at the top of his lungs too and got many smiles from fans around us! He had so much fun and we are truly 'thankful' that we are able to introduce him to new and fun situations that hopefully he will remember forever! He did say that when he grows bigger like daddy he was going to play basketball on that court! hey, anything's possible right?

It's not the holidays without a trip to the ER!

so, I hear that you haven't lived unless you take a trip to the ER during the holidays, so we decided to try that out!
Molly fell in the bathtub today and hit the back of her head on the soap shelf-no big deal right? well, when i wrapped her up in the towel she just immediately started puking. ok, panic time! So we called the pediatrician and he said to just bring her in there since she didn't loose consciousness. So we get there and she starts to run a fever-totally random. So he sent us to Children's Hospital for some head scans. Everything was perfectly fine and said she just had a mild concussion. Never would I have guessed that my little girl would've had a concussion before her big brother! He was so concerned about her too! Such a good big brother he is (most of the time)! So she ate a good dinner and went to bed with no problem. Her brother on the other hand, is still trying to talk his way out of bed!
Here's some cute pigtails that didn't last very long at all! She wasn't a fan and Turner was a precious pilgrim at preschool this week!
