Gustav is gone but not forgotten!

So my family is all along the Gulf coast, which means that Hurricane season is not my happiest time of the year!!! Gustav has come, left his mark, and moved on. Now comes Ike!!! AHHH! My mom, sister-Natalie, her boyfriend-Randy, niece-Carly, and dog-Gracie, all came to evacuate the storm last Saturday and drove all night long. They came and left my dad to watch the house, board up, and he had to work, not knowing that it would be last night when they finally had power restored to their house in Baton Rouge, La. Ridiculous! You'd think a state that just went through Katrina 3 years ago-to the day- would have better plans in place. Which I do recognize they did and many lives were saved, but seriously, no power for over a week. Crazy!
They did have roof damage, limbs and small pine trees fell on the roof, some poking holes that my dad was able to hear dripping, since there were no kids, noise, power to do anything else.
So now the family finally started their trek back home in a packed car with a brand new generator in tow-obviously all were gone in La and with Ike on the way... guess you can never be too prepared.?

Thanks to those for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns, regarding my family and this stressfull time. I think they have about had it in and would love to move back to TN where we just worry about droughts, and where are we going to go out to eat next. Oh wait, maybe that's just me and Johnny.

We did get the new baby girls room painted! That was worth the evacuation right there! We did lots of fun stuff too, will have pics posted later. I'm technologically challenged-to say the least!
