A bit of Christmas

Obviously sleep deprived, I only downloaded a few and am headed to bed for the first of a few times tonight I'm sure. She is a doll baby and so good. She very rarely cries, especially at night, she just makes "baby noises" to let me know she's awake and hungry. We went for our weight check today and she's back to her birth weight of 7lb 10oz. Monday at the dr's she was 7lb 6 oz so did very well. We are on soy formula due to spittin up so much, but seems to be doing much better on the soy. Turner seemed "scared" to touch her at first but is getting more confident, he has ASKED to feed her a bottle and for me to bend her down to his level so he can give her good night kisses. SO SWEET! Johnny still can't let her out of his sight! He did have to go back to work last night for night shift and I know it was killing him! Probably not as much as me though! He's been a great daddy (again) and so helpful so it was hard today doing the nights and days. I really can't wait for my family to hurry and get here this weekend to "relieve" me!
I've noticed definetly hard to give Turner the time he wants, but with all the new, fun, and exciting toys, we are having fun sitting down on the floor playing with all the new stuff! He's doing so good though.
We went to McAlisters today after the dr's apt and these girls behind us walked up and said Oh my look at that premie! I just smiled.
Another funny story from the hospital when my inlaws first brought Turner into the room before I was wheeled away for surgery, he saw the IV and all the bags and tubes and said "mommy why are you drinking all that water from that bag? Are you going to spit baby sister out?" we all died laughing! It was so funny! I was very worried about how he would react to seeing me all hooked up, because of how protective he is of me, but he was very sweet.
We've been so blessed with two wonderful babies! I know everyone says, enjoy every moment, they grow up so fast!

Molly's home!!!

Yall know I have a ton of pictures so I'll just do a little at a time, we are home and everyone's doing good. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting but at times it wasn't as easy as I was hoping! We are having problems uploading pics too, i guess I was overloading it. Anyways, she's a dollbaby!!! Noone can believe how tiny she is. We were all amazed! She weighed 7lbs 10 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long, tall and skinny!!! She has super dark hair and tons of it! She also has a blonde patch of hair above her left ear. So funny, you can kinda see it here in this picture. We've called it her skunk patch, her Corrella de'ville patch, etc. She's been so great! Sleeps great, eats great, spits up great, had to change her formula already and a little bit jaundice. We go tomorrow for our dr check up so hopefully it will all be fine then. We'll let you know, thanks for all your prayers! I'll blog more later on Turner's first reactions and stories! You know those are too good to keep secret!

Merry Christmas!!!!

So we made our annual trip to see Santa and this crazy picture is what we got out of it!!!! That and a great laugh!!!! He was so excited to see Santa! We were in line watching all the kids kick and scream and I just knew something was gonna happen with our drama king! But he ran up there told Santa that an ornament had fallen off his tree and that he wanted a Dinosaur for Christmas and then showed him the boo-boo on his finger, which is why I guess the sleeve is pulled way up??? No clue. Anyways, great picture!!!
So headed to finish packing our bags and get a good nights rest(YEAH RIGHT) to be at the hospital at 5:00am for Molly's arrival! I'll post pics as soon as I can!

What Were We Thinking???

So Johnny's got a "head cold" and I'm scheduled for a C-section this week and how did we decide to spend one of our last days as a family of 3??? We went to Dollywood!!!! Big mistake!!! We had already told Turner we were going before Johnny started feeling really congested and you know you can't tell a 3 1/2 year old something and then take it back especially 2 days before his birthday! We really went to see the lights and the shows, which were great! As we were walking out of one of the shows, it begins to downpour! Well, we hadn't ridden the train-huge deal- or had hot chocolate, so we hid out in another show until it was just sprinkling and then ran or waddled to the train. As we were getting off the train, another downpour! By this time we were just over it. Turner, by the way, thought that this whole thing was awesome, getting to splash in the puddles without mommy yelling and playing in the rain. Notice in the pictures we did NOT have any rain gear! So we got soaked! Pretty sure Johnny is gonna have to go to the dr tomorrow, just to get rid of this "head cold/sinus infection" before Friday when Molly is due! Doubt they would let him in the operating room sounding the way he is. So, I would ask you all to say a prayer but that seems selfish since it was our own fault that got us into it??? we did have a good time and got a story out of it and the smiles on Turner's face was pretty priceless!!!! PS. notice how huge I am!!!!

2nd Dentist Trip

Ok so these are old pics! This is when he bit through his cheek at our "old school" and had our very first ER visit! I was in the room back when I was the director of the preschool and he was running and slid into a table hitting his mouth and biting through his cheek and bottom lip, well, ER doc gave us some "magic mouthwash" and did not do any stitches or anything except look at it.
Long story short, went to dentist today and teeth look great, no cavities, he was cracking me up! Drama king during the polishing with his mouth wide open asking "Are you done yet?" "Are you finished yet" it was hilarious. Then she tried to floss and Turner put his hand up and said " we don't put string in our mouth". I had to explain that we have the little picks with the floss on them! It was funny.
Ok, so about the injury, they said that he has way too much scar tissue in his cheek and is frequently biting it while chewing or talking causing it to scar even more. I've noticed a few times he says ouch while chewing.. so she wants to wait another 6 months to see if with his face and mouth grow if the scar tissue will dissolve with the growth of the mouth. If not laser surgery to remove. Sounds interesting.
Ok, so there's our dentist story, he was so good! Seriously, I laughed the whole time!

6 Words to Describe You!

The Deakins::: Our lives are about to so change!!!!!!

The Cliftons:::I'm too blessed to be depressed!!!

Turner's 1st; Phil's Last

Turner, Johnny, and Grandad went to the UT vs KY game and had a blast, well, sort of. Turner really enjoyed the fireworks after the touchdowns (glad there were some) and watching Smokey Dog! He did call me after the first quarter and asked me to come pick him up bc he was cold, but Johnny got him some popcorn and hot chocolate and apparently he warmed up very quickly. Standing on his seat, singing at the top of his lungs, "Rocky Top". He loves that song, granted we are working on some minor details; like it's "Rocky TOP" not "Rocky TALK".... but that's just a minor detail!
So sad I didn't get to go to Turner's first UT game but I know there's no way I could've walked up all those stairs and probably would've gone into labor-crap, I should've gone! But I'm glad they had fun! I'm even more proud that Johnny took 40 something pictures for me!!! I threatened his life! He even remembered the scoreboard!

Tagged too!

OK, so I was "tagged" twice. But surely this is enough embarrassment for two! Apparently this is some blog game where I have to pick the 4th folder from my pictures or downloads and then pick the 4th picture in that file. Then have to tell 4 things about this photo and pick 4 more people to "tag"..
1. I so wish I looked like this again, not only the body but the tan too!!!
2. This was 3 of my bestest friends in high school in Louisiana! Stephane, Melissa, and Ruthie.
3. I still keep in touch with all 3 of these ladies, thanks to Facebook!!!
4. This used to be one of my favorite photos! We thought we ruled the town (it was a small town outside of New Orleans and Baton Rouge-Hammond, LA). We were all that and a bag of potato chips!!!!

TAGGING:
1. Brooke Crass
2. Allison Pickell
3. Jill Turner Drewery
4. Tara Thompson
tried to pick 4 that I haven't seen been Tagged!

Plan B

So my plan was to tire Turner out for a long nap!!!
I got together the leaf blower and the rake and of course I planned on taking the leaf blower and giving him the rake. Of course thats not how it happened. I ended up raking all the leaves and he played with the blower and jumped into them. We bagged them and I thought, yeah, he's tired now, we'll go inside for hot chocolate and a long nap!!! Boy was I wrong, he was wired from all the fall fun and I was stinkin' exhausted!!! I even had blisters! What was I thinking!!!????

Turner Dancing at Wedding

This is Turner dancing at his cousins wedding where he was a ringbearer on a chair! I promise there was music playing, you just can't hear it very well. He was yelling at people in the food line to listen and watch him!!! It was hilarious! I still deny the fact that he got these moves from me! It had to be his daddy! I do not go around smacking my rear, unless by accident!

I'm afraid we are in for lots of parent/teacher conferences once we get into school!!!Yikes!

Kevin and Ashley Smith Wedding

So we were in yet another wedding this past weekend. This time it was Johnny's cousin, Kevin who got married. We had a blast and were one of the very last people to leave. Mainly bc Turner wouldn't dare go if anyone was willing to listen or look at him to give him any attention! I have a video clip of him standing on a table dancing and smacking his butt! It's hilarious! (gotta figure out how to download that...) As you can tell, nothing got in his way! Not even the couples first dance! The wedding was outside at Halo's Notch Vineyard and was gorgeous but very very windy and very cold! I have more pictures but just had to prove that we were actually in a wedding this weekend and couldn't do a ton of fun things that we were invited to. sorry guys! will work on the video clip and other pics soon...

Baby Shower part 1

Molly is so blessed to have such talented friends and family !!! Brandi Clifton made the cupcakes with Molly's name and then my mom used the flowers from the cupcakes to make this lamp for her room! Brandi also made the diaper cake and the big "M" and clothes line! My mom made the canvas art to go above Molly's bed and the "M" will go above changing table. Cant wait to show you pics of that!!! Thank you so much to all of you talented friends and family!!!! More shower pictures will be coming, just couldn't download them all!

Hilarious!!

These were actually taken on Halloween! Hilarious! I love the pumpkin and his face! It took us an hour to only go to 6 houses bc Mr. Politics here had to talk to EVERYONE! He wanted them to come see that his dog was back, to pet his dog, to come to his house and see his new big boy bed, whatever they would listen to. It was hilarious, also a little embarassing. I've enjoyed seeing everyone's blog with their little ones dressed up so here's mine!! Crazy to think next year I'll have two to dress!!!

And Molly it is.....

So Molly wins, well, not really on the polls but for the Deakins!!! Turner and Johnny both picked that out of our little "lists" we had. Yeah, still not sure about the middle name. My mom and Johnny's mom both share the middle name of Sue, so we might go with the family tradition of carrying names on with that one.. Obviously the room is not finished. My mom and aunt painted some flowers on canvas and hopefully a few other pieces will finish the walls. Turner had his initials above his crib that I painted so, may have to do something above her crib too. Can't be partial to one and not the other. I have a feeling I'll learn that all too soon. Turner did want me to tell you that he helped put Molly's bed together. He had to lift up my shirt and tell Molly that too!
Turner did get new big boy furniture(bunk beds) also, but when I took this picture of Molly's room, he and the dog were laying on his brand new bedding, so I opted to wait on that photo. I mean why do we even buy new things??? Just add dog hair, dirt, and a discount and I'm sold.

To Infinity and Beyond!!!

We have done Boo at the Zoo every year since Turner was born and this year we drug the Clifton's with us! Turner had a blast and I even made it all the way without complaining or having to "rest"!!! I was worried about not being able to keep up with them but it was pretty crowded so the lines were long. I don't remember it ever being that crowded. Turner looked pretty hilarious in his Buzz Lightyear outfit and almost got in a fight with another Buzz. This "other imposter Buzz" walked up to Turner and put his hands on Turner's chest and said "I'm Buzz". Well Turner got up in his face and said "I"m Buzz Lightyear and I'm bigger than you!" Turner was clearly not bigger than him and Johnny intervened bc it looked like it could go downhill between the superheroes really fast. So Johnny said "whoa" and Turner kinda frowned his eyebrows and said "ok, maybe you're bigger." It was really funny!!!

Promise I'm not a greedy person......

Ok, so with this Gestational Diabetes, I've been making a list of things that people "NEED" to bring me at the hospital to make me a happier person!!!! Most of these things are simple, yet I can not have due to the diabetes which I'm still in denial about! I've only had 1 high reading and that was on my birthday for pete's sake!!!!! Which yes, I am celebrating again, bc I didn't even get to eat anything!!!I had 1 cookie and that made me go over. Gimme' a break!
1) A COKE!!!!LARGE
2)Cereal-don't even care what kind, big bowl
3)Ice cream-don't care what kind of this either, again, big bowl
4) Cheeseburger and fries (like the only thing I was craving and they took that away!Jerks!)
5) Hot Caramel Apple Cider-starbucks-I'll take generic too
6) Halloween Candy-maybe childish but you can't tell me you don't sneak a piece of your kids!!?
7) Pasta-again, don't care what kind. Even spaghetti, lasagna, whatever!
I know I'll have more to post on this when they keep adding to the list of what I can/can't have!
I go back to both diabetes dr and obgyn on the 29th so I'll be asking many many questions. ...Does this mean I can deliver earlier? Do I really have this or was I just starting to gain weight and you all were thinking about me and what I'd look like after 2 kids??? How soon after delivery can I have a coke??? Exactly how "fat" is Molly going to be??? Should I go ahead and take all the 0-3 month outfits back to consignment? (Turner was almost 10 lbs and we totally skipped that size with him) Can I stop stabbing myself yet? I'm sorry that my family hates you bc I am the cook and they are now on the same diet... oh wait, that wasn't a question.....sorry.

Kids say the darnest things....

I've got more of these.....Did I tell yall the "crap" story? oh, well, here it goes.... So, Turner a few weeks ago, had a bout of diarreah. I'm thinking too many strawberries in one sitting or just a yucky stomach bug going around. So...while sitting at dinner, Johnny says, "buddy, you are not sleeping with me tonight, you're not crappin' on me!" well, Turner got very upset and starting to cry and with the most pitiful voice ever looked at him and said..."Well, can I crap on mommy?"
We fell on the floor laughing and he was still so sad.

While on the way to preschool the other day-we have to wake up early on these days- Turner is rubbing his eyes and starts getting frustrated. I said "What's wrong?" he yells " I've got sticky sap in my eyes mommy!" I laughed and said "oh, you mean sleep?" he of course retorted "No, I'm awake, mom!"

The worst ever!!!!!Can't believe I'm even going to tell you all is when it was just me and Turner at home and I was cooking dinner, so he runs up behind me and smacks my behind and then says, "oh, i'm sorry mommy, is baby sister growing in your butt?" I cracked up laughing and turned around and said "no, why?" he said, "because mommy your butt is growing!" all inquisitive-like. It really wasn't funny to me, but Johnny reminds me of that all the time. My friend Ashley does too!!!!

I'm sure I have many more, these are just the few that pop into my mind right now!! Enjoy!

MACK IS BACK!!!!!!

Mack is back!!!!He's home safe with us, hungry, thirsty, absolutely filthy but we don't care, he's back with us!!!!!
A lady called me about 10:15pm tonight and said, did you find your dog? I said , no, we haven't. She said she thought she just saw him down the road and to hurry. Of course I ran in the car flew up the road and there he was wandering around. He went right to her, she came to meet me and got ahold of him. He was so freaked out, he didn't know what to do. So I praised her and put him in the car and Turner started yelling. He was so excited!
He has thorns and stickers all over him since he has so much hair so he ate and drank and we gave him a bath and now he wont leave my side and just keeps staring at me!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and thoughtful words. You wouldn't believe some of the things that people were saying to me when I was passing out fliers. It was awful! So I appreciate you all and especially the lady down the road. I have her name and number on caller id so am going to call and bring her a present tomorrow!
Thanks again, our best friend is back!!!!

Mack's Missing!!!!!Please pray for safe,quick return!!!

So I went to walk our dog tonight about 10:40pm and he took off after a cat and hasn't returned. Me and many neighbors frantically searched for him for hours and can't find him. Johnny even came home from working night shift and scoured the woods around the house for hours to no avail. Please pray for Mack's safe and quick return. He sleeps at the foot of Turner's bed every night as you can see and just don't know what we'd do without him. Dogs really are a part of your family!
After shedding so many tears tonight, pray for me to aslo keep my strength to 'talk' to Turner tomorrow with wise words and a strong heart. T knows he's missing but fell asleep in my bed while we were searching around the house. It's hard not to blame yourself, ya know?. I'll keep ya posted!

Hope there's never a fire!!!!

Don't have pics of this one bc I'd have to post a Warning:!

So doorbell rang the other day, dog went barking and child ran yelling to the door. Guess we don't have visitors often enough!? It was the Loudon County Volunteer Fire Dept. He's doing his speal and asking for donations for new equipment and hopefully we wont ever need them bc we aren't in the city-blah blah. I fully intend on writing a check before he went on with his speech. Well, Turner of course raises his hand to give a high five and the very nice gentlemen says, 'well, buddy maybe I'll take a raincheck on that high five" I was kinda perplexed and was thinking man, that was almost rude..UNTIL... I looked down from trying to block the dog from running out the door and noticed that Turner with his hand still raised-has NO pants on, NO underwear on, NOTHING but a shirt that was obviously too small!!!! So, I gasped-"Turner go put some clothes on" with an embarrased grin, then I kinda pushed him around the dog to go run and get clothes on, he trips over the vacuum cleaner exposing even more than he had before and now not only do I look like a bad mom, I look like an abusive, horrible mom!!!!!

I looked at Turner and said, "did you trip over the vacuum cleaner?" even though it was obvious. He was screaming and crying of course bc he had an aduience-"no you pushed me down!!!"

So I looked at the nice Fireman and asked if he could come back Friday, he said sure is this 170 or 160. I said 170, I'm so sorry, crazy day!? He said, "no problem, I understand". This was over a week ago!!!!!

Do I even need to tell you that the Loudon County Volunteer Fire Dept. has NOT been back to our house to collect their donations from the Deakins Family?????!!!!!!

How embarassing!!!!!

Turner's Trail Mix

Turner loves "Trail Mix"! We go to different grocery stores looking for new trail mix. Well, Turner has a new name for all of the pieces of the trail mix. He came to me this morning asking for "meatballs". I figured since we had meatloaf for dinner last night thats what he was asking for. Boy was I wrong....he brought me the trail mix tupperware and started picking out pieces and calling them by different names.
Let me translate for you.....
"Turner calls them":-- What they really are:
"Meatballs" --chocolate malt balls-whoppers
"chicken pops"-- chocolate morsels
"pennies" --M & M's
"peanuts with skin"-- Almonds
"wrinkles"-- raisins/dried fruit

I thought it was so stinkin' funny. I had to take a picture and have him 'point them out' to me!
Kids Say the Darnest Things!!!!

Baby Isaiah and Johnny share a birthday!

My good friend Ashley Archer had her baby boy today at 11:23am-3 weeks early of her due date and she's not too upset about it. Isaiah Kahlil weighs 5 lbs 12 oz and is 18 1/2 in long. He is a tiny little thing but knows what he wants, when he wants it already...diaper change, food, being held, etc.
Coincidentally, it's Johnny's birthday too!!!! He says it can only mean "greatness" for Ashley's little guy! Congrats to both!!!

Escaping Gustav for a mini-vacation!

Evacuating turned out to be the best for everyone!! No power for 6 days is not my idea of fun!!!
We did lots of fun stuff when my family came up to run away from the hurricane! We went to the Smoky Mts and in all the years that I've been to Cades Cove, I've never seen a bear until this trip and we saw 2 different bears around the park! One we just barely caught with our camera! You can see him in the bottom left hand of the first windshield picture. Turner is in the other. We went to the Boomsday fireworks, ate great food, went shopping, painted the baby's room, and just had a little mini-vacation. Of course, worrying about dad the entire time!!!
I did get some pictures of the mess and damage from the hurricane from my family today, so will be posting those soon, along with my friend-Ashley Archer's new little boy, who arrived today, on Johnny's birthday! To be continued!.....
