Don't have pics of this one bc I'd have to post a Warning:!
So doorbell rang the other day, dog went barking and child ran yelling to the door. Guess we don't have visitors often enough!? It was the Loudon County Volunteer Fire Dept. He's doing his speal and asking for donations for new equipment and hopefully we wont ever need them bc we aren't in the city-blah blah. I fully intend on writing a check before he went on with his speech. Well, Turner of course raises his hand to give a high five and the very nice gentlemen says, 'well, buddy maybe I'll take a raincheck on that high five" I was kinda perplexed and was thinking man, that was almost rude..UNTIL... I looked down from trying to block the dog from running out the door and noticed that Turner with his hand still raised-has NO pants on, NO underwear on, NOTHING but a shirt that was obviously too small!!!! So, I gasped-"Turner go put some clothes on" with an embarrased grin, then I kinda pushed him around the dog to go run and get clothes on, he trips over the vacuum cleaner exposing even more than he had before and now not only do I look like a bad mom, I look like an abusive, horrible mom!!!!!
I looked at Turner and said, "did you trip over the vacuum cleaner?" even though it was obvious. He was screaming and crying of course bc he had an aduience-"no you pushed me down!!!"
So I looked at the nice Fireman and asked if he could come back Friday, he said sure is this 170 or 160. I said 170, I'm so sorry, crazy day!? He said, "no problem, I understand". This was over a week ago!!!!!
Do I even need to tell you that the Loudon County Volunteer Fire Dept. has NOT been back to our house to collect their donations from the Deakins Family?????!!!!!!
How embarassing!!!!!

This is GREAT. Thanks for sharing it. We all have those little "moments"-- reminds me of one that I figured I better post on Ethan! ha. See my blog for more...
ReplyDeleteHey Whitney! It is your old friends that moved to Nashville (you know the ones who you were in the wreck with!) "The Thompsons"! Long time no see! I was so excited to see that you guys had a blog and have been a blog stalker for about a week so I thought I had better comment. This story had me rolling!!! Connor is getting into this stage where he is doing funny and embarrassing things too. I guess we should cherish this time because it will be gone all too quickly, but seriously how embarrassing that must have been. Made for a good blog post though... Ha!
ReplyDeleteGood one!! I bet the fireman told all his buddies and they got a good laugh, I hope. I am glad my kids are not the only ones running around naked at home. I always have that thought in the back of my mind - what if someone shows up unexpectedly- cause you know it takes longer to get their clothes on them in that situation than most other times. LOL
