WHOOHOOO!!!!!!

This is about how we are feeling these days!!!!
We are so excited to announce that we have a contract on our old house!!! We were offered 5,000 less than asking price and then the person stated that they wanted ALL items currently in the house! WEll, we flipped out! An antique table and chair set that has been in Johnny's family longer than I've been alive, pictures that my mom painted for Molly, pictures from both my nonnie and Johnny's granny, shower curtains that my grandmother made for me....we just couldn't fathom losing those things to a stranger! so we said we'll accept your monetary offer but no way can you have all items currently in the house! so they came back yesterday with a counter offer accepting as long as the curtains/blinds stay... I cant totally live with that! most of them were from WALMART! so ha, jokes on you! We are signed and in contract and waiting for a house inspection and their financing-finger's crossed!!!
Vol season is in full swing! not swinging the way we're wanting it to,, but swinging! Found this dress for Molly and will have to get a better pic but it says "Go Vols" on the bloomers too! Too cute! She has been "talking" non stop the past few days.. She talked through her nap time today and only slept for about 30 minutes all day long! I'm sure this is where Johnny chimes in and says "she takes after her momma!!!"

Offense? what's that?

so I've had a ton of flag football pictures to blog about but the website has not been friendly to me at all. These are from today and I'll try last weeks photos tomorrow. Turner is a riot to watch at flag football!!!He wanders around, huddles with the opposing team, then sneaks up and tries to snatch their flag,and sometimes even takes his own teammates flags etc. It's really funny and embarrassing all at the same time. But heck, what can you do huh? He's 4 1/2! He really loves defense. I think he thinks it's a big game of tag or chase!
This is one time he actually did a really good offensive play!!!

Finally A Toothy Grin!

I never thought this stupid tooth would ever come in!!! I've been meaning to get a picture of it and did so today while at Turner's flag football game(pictures on that coming). She's got another little one right next to this one coming in. So we're doing the double whammy teething schedule apparently. Geez, Thanks!

Like Grandfather, Like Grandson

So Johnny and I have been joking-kinda seriously-about how much Turner is JUST like Grandad Steve-my dad. He is so outgoing, cares about EVERYONE, and talks to total strangers ALOT! So since we've started walking around the lake here in Kingston, Turner wants to stop everyone we pass and talk to them about anything-the turtles we just fed, the crane we saw, what's their dog's name,do they want to come watch him play football, etc. So I started talking to him about how it's ok, to say "hi" but not talk to EVERY stranger he sees. Here's how the conversations went.....

Whitney: "Turner, you know you don't have to stop every person and talk to them? Some people are trying to exercise"
Turner: loudly " But mom, HE wasn't a stranger!"
Whitney: "oh really? where did you meet him?" sarcastically
Turner: "I saw him at WalMart- are you calling me a liar?"
Whitney: couldn't even say anything, I just died laughing!!!

I had to do it....

Have you ever gotten dressed to go to the grocery store and said "man, I just look way too cute to JUST go to the grocery store"....???? Yeah me neither! BUT MOLLY DID!!! she was just in a great mood after waking up from a long nap so I grabbed a blanket and ran to the backyard and had a photo op while Turner was in preschool... she looked just way too cute for sitting in a buggy at Kroger!!!! (can't believe she's already 8 months old!)

Here are just two of the before/afters on the rooms...The bright yellow is before in Turner's room and the sage green is "after" in Turner's room.
The mint green with wallpaper is before in the master and then the "chocolate froth" color (really what it is called) is "after" in the master bedroom. still working on more.....tbc....

Getting Too Big For Our Britches!

ok, so I tried the extra long post....no ideah how it's gonna turn out. just haven't been blogging as much as I think I'm supposed to! Molly's already trying to crawl up/down the stairs-really need to get a gate for that! She's standing and trying to walk around everything! not ready for that either! We're also in the "rubbing all my food through my hair" phase! hate that! MOlly just turned 8 months old and Turner still every bit of 4 1/2. Johnny and I decided to switch his preschools to one down here in Kingston, after much thought though. We really hated to make yet another transition for him but decided in the long run it'd be better if he already knew some kids before going to kindergarten next year. This preschools was really great with learning and letter/number recognition which he is already really interested in. The other just seemed to have so many younger kids in the class and I know he will miss them so much but we are incouraged by how much he wants to go to his "new school" already. Hope it lasts! So, off to unpack more boxes, clean up, and take the trash off! Never thought I'd be one to say that!
